Appearance: Begin with one Keanu Reeves. Gently fold in some fear, some weariness, and confusion. His appearance is as neat as he can manage, though due to the heat of melting the wax for his candles, he is often a little sweaty.

History:

• Basically was set to be a clergyman his whole life, started as probably a choir boy or equivalent, then advanced from there.


• After a series of unfortunate coincidences, he became convinced he had the Vice and it was manifesting as bad luck that affected those around him.


• Though his first instinct was to delve deeper into his faith to redeem himself, the treatment of those with the Vice began to weigh on him and instilled a fear for himself and he decided to pursue a different career.


• He became a chandler’s apprentice in the same settlement as his congregation, just long enough to become a journeyman, at which point he left to distance himself from the people he was convinced of bringing bad fortune to.


• He has traveled for a few years, developing his candle making abilities and never setting up shop long enough to truly thrive because every bit of bad luck is perceived by him as an ill omen or his Vice catching up to him.

Personality: He has a nervous disposition due to fear of his imaginary Vice, but is an overall friendly, pleasant man who wants to help people. His humor skews towards self deprecating and is often used to ease the tension of awkward interaction. He’s quiet, and walks the line between introvert and extrovert, enjoying his time alone and the routine of candle making and gardening etc. while also taking genuine pleasure in interacting with others and talking to them about their worries and joys.

Abilities: He can read and write and sing and make candles. His garden is well-kept and he is a good listener. Idk he can do normal human things because he’s a normal human.

Reputation: He’s likely to be regarded with some suspicion at first simply because he’s a stranger, new to Northcliff, but if there were such a thing as yelp in this world he’d have nothing but positive reviews from the majority of those he’s interacted with in the past. Perhaps some may say he was too keen to pick up and leave, too much of a wanderer, too nervous, or whatever, but overall people like him.
